My husband is paralyzed and permanently disabled. He suffers from seizures and I am his fulltime caregiver because we cannot afford one. Therefore I cannot work. I do occasionly do odd jobs when time allows just to try and pay the bills. We live on food stamps and Social security which is never enough. We have three wonderful kids. We struggle everyday and always have shutoffs for our utilities. Christmas is always very depressing for me and my husband. We want to give them the world and it will never happen. They appreciate every little thing that they do get even if it is just candy and gum that I can get with the food stamps or just socks and underwear. My kids don't ask for much, but I would love to give them a decent holiday. Just to see their faces would be amazing. If anyone can help us in anyway I would appreciate it so much. I can prove everything that I say from doctors' notes to caseworkers for food stamps. Please if you are blessed and can help us out let me know!! Thank you for your time and thoughts. God bless and happy holidays!!!
I am deaf person, living on monthly income from SSI, with my wife and 2 children which are all disabled. My wife lost a child almost 8 years ago and the two children that followed each have disabilities so I am trying to find a grant to help us buy a home and a maybe a grant for me to start my own painting business. I have 9 years experience in painting, but as long as I find a program that will help me find somekind of income aside from my fixed SSI or the grant to help us in anyways purchase something of our own would be a great gift from above...

Don,
First of all, for you own safety , remove you phone #.
Secondly, I understand your desire to care for your sister, however, even though lupus does have a significant impact on a person's life, there should be no reason why she cannot do something other than talk on the phone and watch TV.
If she and her husband cannot work, They can apply for SSD, in turn, they can get medicare which will cover their prescriptions. Until then they can apply for social services which can supplement their income and provide them with health insurance to cover their medical needs. TN human services FAQ -lupus SSA
My name is Don and I take care of my sister who has lupus and her husband who has cancer. I work full time to make ends meet. I would love to provide both of them with the best Christmas ever. She enjoys watching TV and talking on the phone with friends and family. Neither one of them ever ask for anything. It would give me great joy to be able to give them the best Christmas ever! If you could please help, I would be so grateful.
